My name is McPhearson and I do a little podcast called Saturday Morning Poke. The show is a 30 minute mish-mosh of indie rock, punk and garage music.
I began SMP to see if I could and I didn’t know it at the time but the podcasting world was in desperate need of a straight forward half hour indie rock show. Bands from all over the world began contacting me to be played on SMP even though in the beginning listenership was limited to PC’s. In the first 3 months listeners grew from 3views/show to 2000+views/show. SMP was just a little media player on Myspace and I own a small plumbing company in Calgary so had no intention of it being anything more.
This hobby has become a huge part of my life that I absolutely love. I love the bands and the fans and the part I play in bringing the two together.
In July of 2009 I started Saturday Morning Poke as an official podcast accessible to anyone with a computer. I hope to carry on doing the show as long as people enjoy it.
Listen to the show, get out and buy some music and POKE IT!!
